Pro Wrestlers Then and Now
Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat Then
Ricky Steamboat made his professional wrestling debut in 1976. He adapted the nickname The Dragon in 1985 and the name stuck. As this persona, he wore Japanese-inspired wrestling clothes, partly inspired by his mother who is Japanese American. He won many championships under this name and became a crowd favorite with his dragon-inspired look. He retired one in the ‘90s but came in 2005 before settling into the next stage of his career.
